It's a Zen thing.

I haven't shown or even talked much about beading lately, but with good reason.  I've been playing in a lovely place full of colorful thoughtfulness known as custom order jewelry land.   I'm caught up so it seemed an opportune time to share some photos.

These were commissioned by a fellow designer.  Maryann is a talented beadmaker and all around lovely person.  It was a treat to work with beads she created especially for these necklaces and an honor to be asked.

You might remember how I feel about patterns, and it surprises me how much I enjoy making these necklaces.  With such a limited design canvas, it's all about the balance of color.  Each one is a wonderful challenge to create something unique, and each bead is stitched at random with no patterns or preconceived definition of the finished piece.   I dig that about them, and the process is definitely one of my happy places.

  1. They look fantastic Juls. I am yet to try patterns in my peyote tubes - do you just bead as you go along or have you been following a pattern for the designs?

    Gorgeous work!
