Serenity Stones

It seems life is happening to so many people.  I've spent a good deal of time this week listening, trying to find words to comfort, sitting at the torch thinking of the people I care about that are facing trials.  I found myself inspired to create a style of bead I haven't made in 10 years, since the war in Iraq started and I, along with every military spouse, was suddenly thrust into the midst of worry, fear and loneliness....and ultimately my own personal coming to Jesus.

I made the first of these stones for myself.  A small something to carry in my pocket to serve as a touchstone of faith, a reminder to live in the positive and focus on the moment.  Some time ago I gave that stone away, having encountered someone in an airport more in need of it than I was.

This week I made more.  Some to give to friends, one to keep for myself, and a few more to share.  Maybe you know someone in need of uplifting.  Maybe that someone is you.

Whatever the case, know that love and prayer went into each~ that they find their way to someone who needs them and that they serve as a comforting presence.

You'll find them at

  1. They are beautiful Juli, a little something to hold on to when you feel like there is nothing else to hold onto in this world. How comforting is that?

  4. I used to have a little stone worn smooth in the sea. It had an indentation just perfect for my thumb. It was my touchstone during a rough time. I don't know what became of it but it disappeared right as the time of troubles resolved itself. These are great touchstones, beautiful and practical. I love that you made them!
