But it sure is worth the ride.

I live about 90 miles from the Gulf Coast of Florida, and if I ever lose my sight you can bet the collection of amazing sunsets I've seen will become my retina screensaver.

I took this photo a couple of years ago on a particularly memorable weekend during which I dangled precariously from a parachute apparatus over 7 VERY LARGE SHARKS.

I totally blamed the yellow 'rain' that might have resulted on the depleted ozone layer and then I pierced my upper ear to commemorate my survival.

I had just begun working with boro glass and was inspired to chase this captured moment in a pendant.

And then because I had hollow mandrels and no idea what I was doing it made perfect sense to blow a vessel with the same inspiration in mind.

~~

I've realized a couple of things since then.

The sunsets are even more amazing.
I still have no idea what I am doing.

  2. Oh Juls they are gorgeous beads... so did you make these back when you took the photo or are these recent ones inspired by that old photo? Either way me likes them A LOT!!

Looking pretty "spunky" as my 4yo man would say... nice photo!!

  3. Oh yeah. You are absolutely doing something right if you can produce such jaw-dropping awesomeness when you have NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE DOING. You? Are a force to be reckoned with Miss Juls. And I? Am glad to be one of your legions of followers.
    You deserve it.
    Enjoy the day!
