But I might need to rethink the pajamas.

Back in November Sheila over at Beadwork Studio shared a WIP that included some gawjus leaves.  I  booked a flight and donned comfortable black traveling attire.  There might have been a mask involved.  Ya know, for sleeping on the plane.  As I waited for my flight I pulled up her blog to stare at the precious and discovered she had posted again~ sharing the technique for creating the leaves here.  Squee, anyone?

Beading time is sparse right now but I had immediately envisioned these babies in some sparkly dangly earrings to wear New Year's Eve, and since it'll be here in 5 minutes I decided last night to at least get started and make a couple of leaves before calling it a day.

As you can see, that plan didn't work out too well.

I was up until 2 am.

And it was totally worth it.

~~

I took those pics too early this morning
to have adequate light,
so here's one that better shows
the color and finish of the beads.

Also?
Each complete earring
weighs 1/2 of 1 ounce.
It's like wearing air.

  9. Hey Juls, those are gorgeous... it just happened I've been formulating some leaves of my own... but those be on a very special Christmas ornament.

It's funny, as I had needle and thread in hand, making each of the leaves is such a happy project. I think it reminds me of when we still had leaves on our trees and no snow on the ground... ahhhh, better days. :)

Hope your day is A-MAZ-ING!!! :)
    {Hugs!}

P.S. I second Erin's statement... I've been know to be woken up at 3 a.m. by a great idea that I just had to bead! LOL Is that the definition of addiction? ;)

P.P.S. My Captca is arsly... is that the adverb of being an ars... and what does that say about me? Deep thoughts so early!

  11. First of all let me say those leaves are beautiful!!!

Then let me comment on one of my biggest problems!!! Sitting down at my worktable to do "just one little thing". Next thing I know it is HOURS later but usually well worth it. Don't you love working on something when you are in the zone? Makes all the difference in the world!

  12. Wowza!!! Juls, those are beyond any words I can come up with! Oh to live next door to you--or at least within borrowing distance. Since that's not the case, I'll just have to attempt to make (read "copy") yours. I'll let you know if it works out. CJ Vierow
