Over the weekend I decided to step out of the proverbial rut that dictates I create based on what will sell (again), and I've spent the last 4 days experimenting and learning and growing. In the beginning all those years ago melting glass wasn't about paying the bills. It was about all those things I just mentioned~ about holding something in the hand used to create it and thinking incredulously to myself,
Damn! I made that.
My favorite sets from the weekend.
It's the kind of feeling you never get tired of ~
the kind of feeling that keeps you doing whatever it is you do ~
the elusive rabbit at the end of the race that
makes you want to be the best version of yourself.
Here's to everyone chasing that rabbit.
Cheers.

You were honoring the talents that God gave you, Juls. That is exactly what I wrote about yesterday. And I think you increased it by that experimentation and wondering at least 10 fold! Doesn't it feel good to break out of a rut? That fluttering in your stomach at trying something new and unproven are the butterflies... but the key is to get them to fly in formation so that they propel you to SOAR.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day!

Rut is so broken and now so are my glasses as I was so excited that I got a little too close to the moniter and BAMM!
ReplyDeleteGorgalishousness!!!!!
Ooooh...those are some "un-rutten" beads you created! Awesome job! Un-rutting looks good on you ;-)
ReplyDeleteThese are really beautiful. I love the bumpies and the color combos.
ReplyDeleteIncredible! I love them!!!!! Create from your heart - when you do, it shows how wonderful you really are!
ReplyDeleteWe are so much alike it is sacry. However, I like your out of the rut pieces very much.

Juls,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration and reminder of why we each run our own respective races. It came at a much needed time when catching my personal rabbit seems almost impossible. I'm completely overwhelmed... but each day, I need to remind myself why I started my race.
p.s. I love the second set (blue) that you displayed!
