Dragonflies and Turquoise

When I ran The Art Of Beads (hey y'all!) I hosted frequent swaps.  It is something I didn't realize I missed until I saw Lori Anderson post about hosting a Bead Soup Party.  Naturally I signed up and was paired with Erin of Every Heart Crafts who creates the coolest ceramic focals.

I adore the collection Erin sent me.  I absolutely love dragonflies, so I was thrilled when I opened the package to find a dragonfly on the focal. I am really looking forward to creating something around it.
Also included were some awesome copper beads and clasp as well as the nicest blue turquoise to accent the piece.  Does Erin speak my language or what?  My treasure:

Erin and I share love for a similar color pallette, so I drew on that for the lampwork and included a few accents.  I'm excited to see what she does.  (Post edited to include Erin's picture of the beads I sent her.  That girl has mad photo skillz!)

Be sure to swing by the Bead Soup Party page and check out the blogs of the other participants~ I am seeing some mega eye candy on those pages!

  4. Erin, you just can't know how much I love the focal you sent me. I lean toward assymetry and the layout of the dragonfly is perfect.
I'm so glad you like the lampwork set. I hope it presents a fun creative challenge.
